Tactical Athletic Performance (TAP) in partnership with Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) and Crossfit Initiative have developed a one-day Team Adventure Fitness Challenge that we guarantee will test your strength, stamina, team work and resiliency. TAP and Crossfit Initiative have shared a collective vision to build team-based performance events in our region that support functional fitness, community and support a great cause. The one day event will include three physical challenges, two short course challenges and one long trail course challenge. The event this year is limited to twenty, 6 person teams, and each team will represent one of the children in our region impacted with cancer. The team registration fee is $500.00 per team, which will provide invaluable support to local children diagnosed with cancer. There will be a BBQ following the event (open to all participants' friends and family, children’s activities during the competition, sponsors' booths, and various challenges for spectators. Our title sponsor this year, Sala Family Dentistry, will issue a check to the child’s winning team who finishes first and all proceeds will go to the NNCCF. As our motto states. This is a Call of Duty, Call for Life and for the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation. See you on the field, and we know your participation will not only make a mark on your life, but those children impacted by childhood cancer.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it...
Is to achieve a small amount of solidarity with some of the toughest people in the world.
People that are fighting against all odds for their lives.

You will have to struggle, claw, and fight your way through 3 challenges.
And like the children and families you are supporting, you won't be alone.
Your comrades will be there to support you, to lift you up.
But in turn, you must support and lift them up.

Do not take this mission lightly.
Do not expect a walk in the park.
Expect a challenge that will test your metal.
Expect the unexpected.

Those that are able to complete the Call of Duty, Call for Life challenge
can expect things like the "Tough Mudder" and "Warrior Dash" to fall into
the same category as things such as:

• "going for a walk"
• "a light workout"
• "a recreational activity"

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

• When Tough Mudder says "this is probably the toughest event on the planet",
  there is a pretty big emphasis on the word "probably". Just like, you'll probably
  complete all 3 challenges...
• The challenges you'll face in your mission were designed by people that work regularly with the Navy Seals (rather than the comparably "cuddly" British Special Forces).
• Forget about "winning". Concentrate on "finishing".
• Jumping into cold water isn't a "challenge"... it's a decision.
• You get a t-shirt!!

Tactical Athletic Performance and CrossFit Initiative are collaborating to design 3 team challenges. Two challenges will be short course events. And the third challenge will be a long course event. Each will take place in the foothills of northwest Reno. Each 6-person team must use their strength, stamina, teamwork, and problem solving skills to complete the challenges. The rugged terrain of the foothills is a perfect testing-ground for teams to demonstrate their skill, fitness, and resolve. And tested they will be...

All participants, family and friends are invited to a BBQ to conclude the event where the hamburgers are being provided by Sierra Meat.

The focus of the day is answering our Call of Duty to our community. Answering our Call of Duty to those that need us to step up and do our part. It's a day you'll never forget when you meet the survivors and their families. And it's a day you'll cherish as we honor the angels that we've lost..

Relaxation medications are available to make patients comfortable during long procedures and to assist those who suffer from dental anxiety or dental phobias. Although relaxation medication is not required for dental or periodontal procedures, it can allow the dentist to manage patient anxiety or phobia while he treats your dental and periodontal needs. Patients can choose from the following options when undergoing dental treatment:

Nitrous Oxide
Commonly called “laughing gas”, nitrous oxide provides relaxation but the patient is still generally aware and able to respond.

Relaxation Dentistry
Oral medications are used to treat anxiety. You will be relaxed while still responding normally to verbal commands.
*Cognitive function and coordination may be impaired.

What to Expect from Relaxed Dentistry
If the patient chooses relaxation dentistry, the patient is required to arrive with a companion who can drive the patient home after the procedure.
At the completion of the dental procedures, the patient will be allowed to recover from the effects of the relaxed before being allowed to go home with the companion. The patient should not drive or operate machinery while taking sedatives for 24 hours after the procedure.

Relaxed dentistry is ideal for people who have:
A high level of fear or anxiety
Suffered past traumatic dental experiences
Difficulty in getting numb
An overactive gag reflex
Very sensitive teeth
Complex dental problems
Time only to squeeze several procedures into a limited time period
A fear of needles and shots
A strong dislike of the noises, smells and taste associated with dental care
TMJ related difficulties where it is uncomfortable to open their mouth for extended periods

Relaxed dentistry allows you to relax and rest while you get your dental needs taken care of. Hours will seem like minutes! Large treatment cases can often be completed in one to two office appointments.
